Yet more evidence of laser cutters being used to create wood type. This was found over on the LetterPress in the UK blog. Definitely considering giving this a try.
I know i havnt been posting but still crazy busy!Been making some woodblock prints to illustrate the book ‘The Bloody Chamber and other stories’ by Angela Carter, so heres the base plates for the first image, these are the Hokusai inspired waves,the castle from The Bloody Chamber will be on the skyline - more to follow!

The Oinkster renovation is near completion and shaping up nicely. Here are images of the menu board in progress. It’s a solid team effort between Justin Van Hoy of Dutchpress working out the graphics, Knowhow Shop and FreelandBuck Architecture designing the board, and laser cutting/etching by 2ndwnd.

Hand-rubbed natural tung oil and beeswax finish. The one with the distinct color and grain is african mahogany, the other two are walnut.
